But this exclusive experience was only accessible to a few lucky.
An immersive trip to the Belgian forest, cradle of the smurfs
On Sunday August 3, 2025, two families had the opportunity to discover the magical universe of the Smurfs, directly inspired by the imaginary of Peyo, their Belgian creator. In partnership with Paramount Pictures, Airbnb offered a totally immersive experience: a day in the woods, with the creation of the hats of Smurf, archery, a typical feast and the possibility of learning the legendary dance of the Smurfs, made popular in the film.
The participants started the day when they arrived in front of the house of the Grand Smurf, a house in the shape of a mushroom where they were welcomed by their host. They also discovered emblematic dishes such as Salsepareille cakes, energy drinking of the Smurfs, and tasted a SalsePareille ice cream at the end of the day. A real family adventure, filled with creativity and conviviality, where the magic of the Smurfs comes to life.

A complete immersion in the enchanting universe of Peyo
The attraction of this experience does not only reside in the possibility of discovering the Smurfs through fun activities, but also in the exceptional setting in which it takes place: the Belgian forest, a magical place where Peyo imagined his universe. Families were plunged into a sumptuous natural setting, far from the daily tumult, where they were able to breathe pure air of nature and indulge in activities that recall the epic adventures of the Smurfs.
This day was also an opportunity to explore the house of the Grand Smurf, a reconstruction faithful to the universe of the characters, and to share unforgettable moments, far from the concerns of everyday life. The scenography of the experience, perfectly orchestrated, delighted young and old. And that was not all: Nicolas Tytgat, the grandson of Peyo, was the host of this adventure, adding a personal and family touch to the experience. This link with the creator of the Smurfs made the experience even more emotional and authentic.
A free but exclusive experience: how to book?
Although this Smurf experience has been completely free, it is important to note that only two families were able to take advantage of it. Reservations were open on July 16, 2025 at 12 noon, Paris time, via the Airbnb platform. But, as for any exceptional event, places were limited and attributed according to the principle of first arrival, first served. It was therefore essential to prepare to be quick if you wanted to try the adventure.
Although the experience was free of charge, the journey to the site was not included, and the participants had to organize their transport on their own. This initiative is part of a broader setting to offer families an escape in nature and to celebrate one of the most emblematic characters of Belgian culture. An original way for Airbnb to promote its experiences while celebrating cinema and local culture.
