Thirty people were injured, mostly slightly, during an explosion of a service station in Rome. Nine members of the police and twenty other people are among the injured.
(Keystone-ATS) The explosion would be due to a gas leak at the time when a tanker truck filled the tanks of the Assembly station. This flight would initially have caused a fire, leading to the intervention of firefighters and the police, then the fire caused the explosion, according to the city mayor, Roberto Gualtieri.
The explosion which occurred early in the morning made the windows tremble with many buildings in the Italian capital. “She was really very strong, I felt my skin burn,” Michele Seco, 23, worked in a sports center located nearby.
The explosion has been heard throughout the capital and many videos circulating on the internet show large flames against the backdrop of detonations with the fuel pump and a column of black smoke and thick rise in the sky above the eastern periphery of the city.
“I am carefully the consequences of the explosion this morning,” wrote the Giorgia Meloni government on X, ensuring that they are in contact with all the authorities involved, including the mayor of Rome.
