About thirty agents will now occupy the Tarrières police station in Porrentruy. A move which comes following the reorganization of the cantonal prosecution and bankruptcy office. The new premises of the cantonal police in Porrentruy was officially inaugurated this Thursday in the presence in particular in the Minister of the Interior Nathalie Barthoulot and the commander of the Jura cantonal police Damien Rérat. The Minister took advantage of the event to salute the commitment of the police and recalled that this relocation “testifies to the desire to guarantee a strong, visible and accessible presence of the cantonal police throughout the territory”.
The Bâtiment du chemin des Tarrières is “perfectly suited to the daily work of the gendarmerie”, because it sheltered the Federal customs and border security (OFDF) until recently, the authorities say. More than 25 gendarmes will work in these new premises. The common counter of the cantonal police and the municipal police on rue Achille-Merguin 2 is also still open to the population. /comm-mlm
