Tour de France 2025: In the sprint, Jasper Philipsen wins the first step and seizes the yellow jersey

The Tour de France began this Saturday, July 5. The departure of the large loop was given in the streets of Lille for a 184 -kilometer stage around the city. It is the Belgian Jasper Philipsen, of the Alpecin-Deceuninck team, who wins, in the sprint, the first stage of this edition and who therefore puts on the yellow jersey.
The tour has hit the road. One of the most anticipated races of the year, the Tour de France began this Saturday, July 5, with a first stage of 184 kilometers around the city of Lille. In the sprint, the Jasper Philipsen wins and endorses the yellow jersey. The Belgian also signs the tenth stage victory in his career on the Tour.
Jasper Philipsen had three victory on the Tour de France 2024. Three French people complete the top 10 of the first stage of this 112nd edition of the Grande Boucle: Anthony Turgis, of the Totalnergies team is fourth, Clément Russo and Paul Penhoët, of the Groupama-FDJ team, are sixth and seventh.
A first step which will have proven to be a tracking for some favorites for the final victory like Remco Evenepoel or Primoz Roglic, taken in a border about fifteen kilometers from the finish. They have already lost 39 seconds on the title holder Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard.
