The CFFs replace Tuesday the first of the four switches which must be redeveloped at the Friborg station. These operations are part of the major maintenance work on the Friborg-Berne railway line which remains interrupted until August 25.

(Keystone-ATS) SBB will put the other turmoil during this week, a spokesperson told Keystone. It will also be a question of arranging about 80 meters around the switch by placing in particular ballast. The teams work 24 hours a day.

The other sites on this line relate to the modernization of the Schmitten station to allow access to single-storey trains, the maintenance of the track and the replacement of switches in Guin and the renewal of about eight kilometers of track and contact line between Flamatt and Bern.

The work budget amounts to around 90 million francs. Some 200 workers are hard at work during the two months of work that started on June 27. SBB has set up a replacement bus service.
