“On July 16, 2025, a malicious player reached customer management software hosted on the cloud and managed by a third -party service provider of Allianz Life,” confirmed Allianz via a declaration transmitted to AFP on Sunday.
The firm explains that the group of computer hackers has used “social engineering” techniques, that is to say the manipulation of users to extract sensitive information to them, for example by pretending to be a business or a trusted person.
The attacker was thus able to obtain identifiable personal data concerning the majority of Allianz Life customers, financial advisers, as well as certain employees, “continues Allianz, without specifying the exact number of affected individuals.
“We have taken immediate measures to contain and mitigate the incident, and informed the FBI,” said the insurance company.
She adds that the investigation, still in progress, has not shown that another Allianz Life computer system has been compromised.
“We started to contact the people concerned by mobilizing dedicated resources to support them,” she said.
