Design, AI functions, AirPods improvements… Apple offers a multitude of new products with iOS 26. However, the apple firm has not said everything about its new major iPhone update. Two very useful functions would indeed still be in the boxes, the time to be finalized. Here is which one!
The unspeakable news of iOS 26, still in development at Apple
While the big novelties of Health et Calendar would wait well iOS 27, there are a few small dungeons that Apple still has under the elbow with iOS 26.
Through his last newsletter Power OnMark Gurman has indeed shared that two functions previously predicted, and not announced during the WWDC 2025, would always be planned for this update.
It is more precisely the real -time translation of the AirPods, so far reserved for iPhone via applications Messages, Phone, FaceTimeand to third -party developers via a new API.
In addition to that, Apple would always plan to add to iOS 26 the synchronization of public WiFi networks between the different devices of its ecosystem. It would therefore no longer be necessary to connect to the network of a hotel, coffee or even an airport separately on each device.
To explain the non-year of these features by Apple in June, Mark Gurman explains: “Apple took care not to announce anything who is not about to be delivered (either in the first version of iOS 26, or in an update shortly after)”.
He thus believes that these two innovations would be deployed in 2025, with iOS 26.1 in October or iOS 26.2 in December.
A judicious choice on the part of the company of Tim Cook, still criticized for not having released the new Siri under IA announced with iOS 18 yet, but also for the more than late deployment of Apple Intelligence functions after the launch of the iPhone 16 Pro.
