We learned a good one this week. American strikes on Iranian nuclear sites have delayed the program for approximately a year, at most two years. An impact ultimately not significant.
This is the portrait that the Pentagon chief drew up, based on satellite images. This inventory is constantly detonated from the thunderous observations of President Trump who claimed, in the aftermath of the strikes, that the United States had destroyed the Iranian strategic installations.
Donald Trump dreamed of a Nobel Peace Prize. He likes to repeat that if he had been in power, neither the war in Ukraine nor the conflict between Israel and Hamas would have taken place. His hypothesis is that he is so feared and respected, that everyone walks with tight buttocks in his presence.
Failure
When we assess his first half year in power, we see several things. He did not advance peace. There is a disconnection between his superlative sentences and reality on the ground. And above all, this enormous authority, this image of man fears and respected, is a monumental farce.
In fact, if we consider the military power of the United States, Trump’s voice is particularly low where it matters, and its real influence seems strongly blunt. He seems perceived as this dog which is constantly barking, but which does not scare anyone.
The case of Iran is interesting. Trump has been negotiating for a long time with Iran. On this basis, he would not need to use weapons to stop their nuclear weapons program. Finally, his negotiation made a potato. He did not even decided to bomb the Iranian nuclear targets. He was trained there by Netanyahu.
Besides, Netanyahu is always headed, lets Trump speak, and puts him in front of accomplished facts.
Having promised never to bring the United States to a war, he wanted this breach to his commitment to be short-lived. We now know that he has not accomplished much.
Poutine
As for the Ukraine front, it is hardly more brilliant. He wanted to settle this conflict in a few days. He made Mamours in Vladimir Putin. He threatened Ukraine to reduce aid. He hoped for a ceasefire agreement. But after six months of this merry -go -round, we only hold one thing: Putin does at her head.
He does not take into account the declarations, threats or wills of Donald Trump. One wonders if he really hears the sound of his voice. Trump spoke to the Russian president yesterday. Putin launched a huge drone attack in the following hours.
When Trump gets impatient, Putin gives him a woolen ball, as we do to a cat to run him and save time. Sometimes Trump lifts his tone towards Putin, sometimes he wants to invite him to the G7 and recreate the G8. Meanwhile, Putin has fun.
Trump is a disturbing man. Do not confuse with a strong leader.
