We also attended the repositioning of the ridge to the Midwest of the United States. This positioning should be prevailing in the coming weeks, ”explains Réjean Ouimet.

The second important weather player is a crest that has developed on the east of the continent. “Bermuda anticyclone stands out as the main player. The waters of the Atlantic have therefore been abnormally warmed up. All of this gives more tone to the East Crete, ”adds the meteorologist.

When the heat makes waves

Finally, in terms of heat waves, we can notice that in the past five years, except 2020, these were often more present during the first half of the summer than the second portion. “It could also be the case this year. However, rest assured that we still risk knowing periods with 30 ° in a fairly prolonged way, ”observes Réjean Ouimet. Note that we can expect more or less brutal cold fronts which could mark the end of these periods of heat.
