After four years of waiting, 8BitDo relaunches his pro series with a well thought out model.
8bit, do you know this business? You should. 8bitdo has just released heavy artillery with its new Pro 3 controller, and this time, the manufacturer had an idea of genius: magnetic Abxy pimples that can be reorganized at will.
No more headaches between the Xbox and Nintendo arrangement, you can now adapt your controller according to your desires. And it is not the only asset of this pro 3 which arrives four years after the Pro 2 with well thought out improvements.
Magnetic buttons that change everything
The great novelty of Pro 3 is this function of interchangeable buttons that no one had yet dared to implement. 8Bitdo provides a small tool to remove ABXY magnetic buttons, and you can then reorganize them as you see fit.
By default, the controller uses the Xbox arrangement (Y at the top, at the bottom), but you can reverse A/B and X/Y to adapt to Nintendo habits.
This function solves a recurring problem for multi-platform players. With the Ultimate 2 controllers, you had to choose between the 2.4 GHz model (Xbox layout) and the Bluetooth model (Nintendo arrangement). There, only one controller does everything! You can even combine this function with the software remapping to use the Xbox arrangement on Switch if that sings you.
Finally a great flow, without superfluous
No phone and TV decoder needed? With B & You Pure Fiber, pay only for the main thing, without obligation. A 100 % fiber offer, 0 superfluous, for those who want the best … and nothing else.
The pro 3 retains the symmetrical design of the Playstation with its joysticks side by side, but now incorporates TMR (Tunnel magneto -resistance) technology. This technology, already present on Ultimate 2, promises higher accuracy, reduced consumption and greater durability compared to hall effect sensors of previous generations.
A load station and pro features
8bitdo saw its copy level rate: the pro 3 goes to $ 69.99 against 49.99 dollars for the pro 2 four years ago. This increase is explained by the addition of a matching charging station (a first for the pro series) and a non -removable 1,000 mAh battery which promises up to 20 hours of autonomy.
The station makes one stone two strokes: it recharges the controller and houses the USB-C 2.4 GHz dongle. Practical not to lose this little accessory! In the event of a flat battery, you can always play in USB wire while recharging the controller.
In terms of connectivity, the pro 3 plays in the big leagues with the support of Windows, Android, of the two Switch (with alarm clock), Steamos (you can shake the controller to wake up the Steam Deck Oled) and Apple equipment. Three connection modes available: Bluetooth, USB or Wireless 2.4 GHz.
With the 8BITDO Ultimate V2 software, you can reconfigure the arrangement of the buttons, adjust the sensitivity of the joysticks and triggers, create dead areas, modify the intensity of the vibrations and save up to three personalized profiles directly on the controller.
Well -felt technical improvements
The Pro 3 takes up the rear buttons of the Pro 2 and adds a set of smaller side buttons. The triggers use hall effect sensors, with switches allowing you to choose between a long (perfect racing games) or short (ideal for FPS where each millisecond account).
The directional pavement benefits from an improved touch return, with a fun detail: the G Classic edition presents streaks in relief (three in each direction) while the purple and gray models display the classic directional arrows.
8bitdo also thought of nostalgic with joystick caps with arcade ball. Their ergonomics remain questionable, but they bring an undeniable retro touch. Each color has its own matching caps: red for nes/snes gray, yellow for purple gamecube.
Three colors that do in nostalgia
The pro 3 is available in three colors that pay tribute to cult consoles: gray (PlayStation), G Classic (Game Boy) and Violet (GameCube). Each version is delivered with its matching charging station and colorful arcade caps.
Available in pre -order now, the Pro 3 will officially be released on August 12.
