“Major” landslide in Portneuf

An imposing landslide leaving a hole of 15,000 m² occurred last night in the row of the East-Blanche River, in Saint-Thuribe, in Portneuf. No one injured was reported.

The firefighters were called upon to intervene around 1 a.m. last night.

It is a major landslidesupports the mayor of the municipality, Jacques Delisle. The Ministry of Public Security has been dispatched to the site.

Three residences belonging to the same family farm were evacuated. In total, 11 people had to leave their homes, only four of them cannot return to their home since it is located around the crater.

A farm building was swallowed in the crevasse with an area of 150 meters per 100 meters and a depth of about 10 meters.

Their dog jumped in their bed so he didn’t find it normal, he said to himself, I will take him out and when he came out, he no longer saw the hangar.[…] They escaped it beautiful thanks to their dog. The house is still intact, but you never know what could have happened.

Farm activities were not affected, the trafficking in cows was able to be done this morning.

Clay soils

A security perimeter of a 50 -meter radius is erected around the crater.

The Ministry of Public Security asks the population not to approach the security perimeter. The municipality must mandate security agents in place at all times to prevent citizens from approaching too close to the crater.
