Menus at low prices: a week of meals at less than $ 2.95 per portion

In order to help our readers face, among other things, the offices of the rise in food prices, our new collaborator Myriam Gendron, creator of the site Simply foodoffers a menu every week at low prices from the best grocery discounts of the week.

Week from June 26 to July 2, 2025

This week marks the arrival of July. After the heat wave of the last days, I wanted to offer you a simple and easy summer menu, it is up to spending the least time in the kitchen (and not to warm the house too much)!

You are also entitled to a festive dessert to cook on the barbecue or fire (it works in camping!) Which will delight young and old.

Speaking of family time … The season of the coat of camarians also started south of the province! If you appreciate this little fruit that is both sweet and tangy, do not delay too much: we talk about about three weeks at most when they are ready to be picked.

The beauty of the thing is that as long as there are no thunderstorms, a holiday or not, the producers are ready to welcome you! So here are my stuff to maximize your harvest, but especially to enjoy it as long as possible, because the camsters are very fragile fruits:

  • Bring your own containers for picking (and promote those that are wider than high to avoid crushing the fruit).
  • Plan a cooler and refrigerant blocks for returning home (to keep the cams in cool).
  • Sort, wash and freeze the extra which will not be eaten and cooked quickly. My favorite technique? Flat on a plate – on a silicone carpet or parchment paper – and we then transfer the fruits to a bag or a container (it prevents them from “taking” in bread and it is much easier to get into the reserve according to desires).
  • But above all … stain Mauve’s hands and enjoy!

Have a good week!
