June 23, 2025 – Defense news

While the summer holiday period and assignments are beginning, we want to thank you, whether you are part of the regular strength, the reserve or the public service, for your hard work, your dedication and your professionalism.
We have known a lot of activity across the Canadian Armed Forces. Whether in the country or abroad, in the bases or squadrons, the headquarters or instruction establishments, on board ships or planes or in the open theater of operations, you have continued to offer your services by showing integrity, discipline and determination. Witness your work has been a privilege. The efforts you make directly contribute to ensuring the security of the Canadian population and consolidating the role of Canada on the world scene.
We have made concrete progress on several key fronts:
- Recruitment and maintenance : Enrollment is up and new approaches help reduce obstacles and simplify processes. It is a long -term job, but we are on a good momentum.
- Modernization and supply : We go ahead with significant investments, including new capacities and making crucial upgrades in land and digital fields. These essential investments support the maintenance of our operational efficiency.
- Operational availability : FAC remain active, competent and mobilized. As part of deployments and assignments in Canada and abroad, your service contributes to the defense of the Canadian population and to support our allies and partners.
- Team and culture : Strengthening our interior institution remains a priority. Building inclusive, respectful and responsible teams is not just the right thing to do; This is essential for our operational success.
Although we have made progress, our work is far from over. The world around us evolves quickly. To meet the requirements of this particular context, we must remain on the lookout, agile and united. We will continue to work in achieving priorities that we established at the beginning of the year: support our staff, improve our operational availability, enhance our capacities and strengthen our professional culture.
We also see a solid commitment from the Government of Canada to invest in our armed forces. These historical investments represent much more than new equipment and new infrastructures; They constitute a vote of confidence in you. This is a recognition of your service, your preparation state and the importance you represent for the future security of our country. It’s not just about what we receive, but also what we do with it. It is an opportunity for us to strengthen how we train, the way we carry out our operations, and the way we support each other. Each of us has a role to play in making this vision a reality.
Whether you are on the ground, behind the scenes or responsible for preparing operations, your work is important. Together, we will build a more flexible, more effective and more unified force, ready to take up the challenges of today and to remain strong for the future.
We also want to emphasize the importance of taking care of yourself and others. For many of you, summer rhymes with a change of rhythm, which you go into deployment, leave or assignment. No matter where you are, we hope you will find time to rest, recharge your batteries and reconnect. Your health and well-being are essential, not only to ensure your own resilience, but also to guarantee the entire team strength.
Thank you to all of you, military and public service employees, whatever your rank or your profession. Your contribution counts. Each role, each task and each staff member plays an essential role in the accomplishment of our mission.
More to follow towards the end of the summer while the period of mutations will pull in its end and that we are preparing for a dynamic and productive fall. In the meantime, enjoy a well -deserved and safe summer break. We are proud to serve by your side.
