Serious collision between a motorcyclist and an octogenarian cyclist
An 84-year-old man was seriously injured on Tuesday after a collision with a scooter at the intersection between Louis-Rendu avenue and rue des Lattes.
The scooter was traveling behind a car that turned right, putting it in front of the cyclist that he could not avoid (illustration image).

A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday around 4:45 p.m. in Meyrin. The incident took place at the intersection of Avenue Louis-Rendu and rue des Lattes and involved a cycling and a motorcycle, according to “20 minutes». The cyclist, a man born in 1941, was seriously injured. His condition was critical when he was transferred to the hospital by a Rega helicopter. The motorcyclist, born in 1972, suffered minor injuries.
Shortly before the collision, the scooter was circulating behind a car that turned right, putting him in front of the cyclist whom he could not avoid. According to a witness, the cyclist would not have respected the stop, thus making the impact inevitable and violent. Police are currently carrying out an investigation to clarify the precise circumstances of this accident.
