The Quebec bar ordered the immediate suspension on Thursday, and until further notice, of Leonardo Rizzuto’s law to exercise the profession of lawyer and his right to use the title reserved for members of the Order.
Leonardo Rizzuto, 56, has been detained since he was arrested on June 12, during the first roundup of the Alliance investigation carried out in the wake of the revelations of the former hitman of organized crime Frédérick Silva.
Rizzuto is accused of the first degree murder of Lorenzo Lopresti, committed in October 2011, as part of a fight within the Montreal mafia. He is also accused of having plot the murders of several other individuals related to the mafia, between 2011 and 2019.
He pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.

Last ten hectic years
Leonardo Rizzuto has been a member of the bar since 1999.

He was shot in a spectacular attempted murder at Highway 440 in Laval in March 2023.
