When a captivating TV series finally returns to waves after several years of waiting (Squid Gamewe greet you), we often need to consult summary to refresh our memory. It is a bit the same feeling that inhabits us with the approach of the return of the roses of Montreal, this weekend, at the Boréale stadium.
This is because of the international break scheduled on the calendar, Montrealers have not played a match since June 22. Worse still, their last home meeting dates from… June 7. Here is where the roses are in this inaugural season of the Northern Super League (SLN). And where they go.

Difficult to do better than three victories in three games to start the season, right? But above all, it is in the way that the players of Robert Rositoiu stood out. The 1-0 victory in Toronto in curtain raising was far from perfect, but we felt the roses invested with a mission to keep their tight net. They then went to win decisively by the 3-1 brand in Vancouver. In early May, the first home game was spectacular: a rise, two beautiful goals from Latifah Abdu and Tanya Boychuk, and the latter in the middle of the field for a gain of 2-1. Abdu and Boychuk were the names to remember from this start -up.

The roses underwent a 2-0 defeat at home against the Toronto AFC on May 22.
These flameches go out somewhat later. In fact, the team will no longer manage to score a goal for three long games (one and two defeats) during the month of May. The roses notably fold the 2-0 spine against AFC Toronto, at the Boréale stadium, on a chilly and rainy Thursday. But the concern does not settle down. Naturally optimistic, Rositoiu believes that the “challenge” in front of his team is “magnificent”. “This is where the character is built,” he said. And I think we need that. »»

The roses unlock offensively on May 25 (1-1 in Ottawa), then at home winning against the Rise de Vancouver in the next match on June 7. Rositoiu describes this 2-0 victory at the “Reference match” stadium. “The girls are rewarded, they played football that we want to play,” he says. They then continue with a nice 2-1 victory in the Canadian capital. Abdu and Boychuk finally find the bottom of the nets in this meeting, marking their respective thirds. “We are rewarded for the work we do,” judges Abdu. This gain is followed by a 0-0 draw with a victory flavor in front of a good Vancouver team on June 22. And that’s where we left them.
Take advantage of home matches

Montreal roses in training at the Boréale stadium on Monday
After three weeks of break, the Montreal roses are now ready to take over the necklace and find their audience at the Boréale stadium. This is what they will do in the next five of the next seven games, by the way. Starting on Saturday, facing the Halifax Tides, who have just changed coach. Neo-Scots live a complicated first season in SLN, with a 7-point harvest, good for the last row. The roses, on the other hand, have long been first in the standings, but have just been exceeded by Toronto. With 18 units, 4 points separate Montrealers from Toronto. What could be better than an extended period at home to garner points and resume the lead?
After the “surprises”, the “adjustments”

And as the SLN is a six team circuit, the median portion of this season will be a good test to see which will have learned from their first clashes, and which will adjust for the next. In roses, we took advantage of the break to refine certain elements. “Robert took the time, with each player, to make a little assessment of what she did good and worse during the beginning of the year,” said Mégane saved in front of The pressTHURSDAY. “We realize that yes, the first time we have played them, we created surprises,” she adds. But the second time has always been a little more difficult. [C’est de voir] How do we adjust. »»
