A Swiss tourist died in Taghazout, a Moroccan village near the city of Agadir in the south of the country last week. The latter would have played with a wandering dog, who would then have clapped her, report the local media, relayed by Watson.
Even if the injury was benign, the tourist was vaccinated against rabies. But her case quickly worsened and she died shortly after, explains the media.
The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, interviewed by Watson, confirmed that a Swiss national had died in Morocco, without giving the cause. The case has also been announced at the University of Zurich Travel Medicine Center, which explains that he has no “confirmation of the diagnosis of rage, nor other details on the person”.
Several cases of death and injury
Other cases of death and injuries linked to scratches or dog bites have already taken place in Taghazout, a very popular tourist village for its landscapes and surf spots.
On a day alone, it happened that Agadir’s health services lists 70 people who have been victims of an wandering dog attack, details Watson, citing the newspaper “Al Akhbar”.
