The passenger of a car lost his life on Saturday morning as part of a road accident which occurred, according to the Mons prosecution, in a fairly narrow street in the entity of Braine-le-Comte where the speed is limited to 50 km/h.
A heavy goods vehicle from a company from the Bruges region arrived in the opposite direction: the two vehicles, which spun in the same direction to try to avoid each other, fell into the ditch, said the Mons prosecutor’s office.
The car passenger died, while the driver, whose vital prognosis was hired, was taken to the hospital where she was in intensive care on Saturday in the middle of the afternoon.
The two people, of Polish origin, were born respectively in 1984 and 1997, said the prosecution. An expert was appointed and went there. The truck driver was deprived of freedom and was to be auditioned with an interpreter. The truck was to be inspected in Dixmude.
The prosecution added that no witness was present at the time of the facts. The findings and conclusions of the prosecution expert have not yet been communicated.
