“They are alone or two on small unregistered displacements, most of the time without a helmet, and roll at 50-80 km/h in our zone 30, deplores a resident. All at any time of the day or night, week and weekend. Despite our regular reports, it is difficult to obtain an effective intervention, because these vehicles spin at such a speed that we do not even manage to capture them on video. ” For the past two years, the phenomenon has even been accentuated. “The inaction of the authorities undoubtedly transformed the district into a space giving a feeling of lawlessness, where these drivers circulate with impunity,” she fulminates.
Ten offenses denounced in the neighborhood
Contacted, the police say, on the contrary, having raised a lot in the area, which they have in the viewfinder “for several months”. “The Plains-du-Loup sector is known to be a place where rodeos take place,” says its spokesperson Michel Gandillon. Police bikers are present there daily to combat these dangerous and inappropriate practices. ”
According to him, the police are requested on average once a day for issues related to urban rodeos and more than a dozen denunciations have been established. “However, it is not easy to carry out arrests, knowing that in view of the police, the protagonists cease their activities and leave the scene,” he continues.
