A resident of the Outaouais denounces the conditions of care offered to his mother, hospitalized at the Hull Hospital Center, in Gatineau, for advanced cancer.
Patrice Gratton says that the septuagenarian has been neglected several times: lack of surveillance after falls and installation in an unsuitable environment despite commitments made by the hospital establishment.
“It’s sad, what happens in health,” he says. It’s not just my mother who saw that. “
He reports several worrying shortcomings, including unsecured bed curtains, the dangerous positioning of the patient and the overwhelming heat in the room.

Mr. Gratton also underlines failures in communication between professionals, a lack of supervision as well as shortcomings in monitoring vital signs.
“There is much more, before that, which happened for my mother. This is why my relentlessness to denounce, ”says Mr. Gratton.
“His pulse was 34,” he continues. There was a matter to send it to the emergency, of course, but no one reported this event. ”

The son now wishes to transfer his mother to another establishment so that she can spend his last moments in more worthy conditions.
