Oscar Plastri was the fastest late Friday afternoon on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Under the sun, the pilot signed his 3rd pole position in the sprint race and will start on Saturday July 26 at 12 noon on the front line alongside Max Verstappen (Red Bull).
Oscar Piastri takes the opportunity to spray the new track record after having made his turn in 1’40”510, the previous record was held since 2020 by Lewis Hamilton. Lando Norris (McLaren) made the 3rd time in front of the Ferrari de Charles Leclerc and the French Esteban Ocon which ranked 5th driving his haas. The other two tricolor pilots, Pierre Gasly (Alpine) and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) made the 8th and 9th time respectively.
This session was marked by the 17th time of Lewis Hamilton Who went to the fault during his last qualification round and which will therefore set off at the bottom of the grid just in front of the Alpine of Franco Colapinto and the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli.
After China in March and Miami in May, Belgium welcomes the 3rd Sprint race of the season. The other three of this 2025 season will take place at the Grand Prix of the United States, Brazil and Qatar.
The start of the Sprint race from the Belgian Grand Prix (11 laps) will be given on Saturday at 12 noon. The qualifications for the Grand Prix will take place on Saturday at 4 p.m. The departure of the Belgian Grand Prix (44 rpm) will be given on Sunday July 27 at 3 p.m.
