In Estrie, 48 municipalities are targeted by an operation to distribute vaccine bait that will set in motion this Wednesday. Quebec explains that the risk of introducing rage of the raccoon from Vermont is very high.
At the beginning of July, cases of rage were discovered in Derby, less than ten kilometers from the Canadian-American border.
Thus, the sectors of Stanstead, East Hereford, Saint-Herménégilde, Saint-Venant-de-Paquette and Sherbrooke are added to the list of municipalities targeted by vaccination baits in the coming weeks. A first operation was carried out this year in April until early May.
Specialized technicians will capture and vaccinate animals in the municipalities of Barnnn-Ouest, Odgen, Stanstead and Stanstead-Est. The animals will be released on site.

au 1-877-346-6763.
It is an animal that will be disoriented, a little mixed. Usually wild animals will save themselves from us, but there it is an animal that looks less fearful, disoriented, abnormally aggressive or even paralyzed, we see it in broad daylight we try to frighten and it does not leave. It can sound bells
explains the biologist Marianne Gagnier.
The operation also targets skuffs and foxes.
Wild animal baits containing the rabies vaccine resemble small sachets of greenish ketchup. (Archives photo)
