For boys, “products all in one to go faster”, and for girls, “perfumes” and “care”. It is in these terms that the Network of Parents association, invited by the Les Ormeaux college in Fontenay-aux-Roses (Hauts-de-Seine) for a “parents’ coffee”, presented its “hygiene” recommendations for adolescents on April 10. An approach of stereotypes, which made Astrid Brobecker, parent of students but also elected ecologist of opposition in the city, tick.
By consulting the association’s website, it is easy to note that parents network conveys a very hierarchical version of the sexes, in addition to discreetly militating against abortion, in a very insidious form. But we also realize, as Mediapart also revealed, that it is financed by the Common Good Fund, organization of the billionaire Pierre-Édouard Sterin, close to the far right and the fundamentalist Catholic circles, which tries with its Périclès project to win the extreme right. And, more surprising, parents’ network is also funded … by the Ministry of Labor, and displays the support of the educational cited system, co -piloted by the Ministry of National Education.
Integral education and anti-SIVG propaganda
The propaganda of the association in favor of conservative and Christian ideas is very cozy. Still on the website, you can read a story of “Bébés-Surprise who upset the life of those who were confronted with it. For better, of course ”. The whole point on this page is to dissuade women who get pregnant at the wrong time of aborting. “Really, this baby, I didn’t want it, but I couldn’t resolve to abort. So I continued my pregnancy, but in sadness. […] Today, how to imagine life without him? », Speed for example one of the testimonies.
The association also claims to defend “full education”. A notion put forward by Pierre-Édouard Sterin in the preface to a book on the subject, where the author, an ex-director of Catholic education in the Loire, explains that she is “based on Christian humanism”. The idea was also promoted by the former pope himself. With this in mind, gender equality is replaced by “complementarity”. “The duality and complementarity of the sexes within a family is a source of enrichment for the child and society,” writes for example parents. Trans, non-binary people, gays, feminists preoccupied not to send mom to the kitchen, men who are not inclined to DIY or solo mothers by choice, go your way. Parents’ network clearly does not include you in its project.
“The Devil is in detail”
“The extreme right represented by Pierre-Édouard Sterin is trying to lead a cultural battle more discreetly than vigilant parents linked to Éric Zemmour,” comments Maxime Pouvreau, Cosecretaire General of the CGT Education 92, which sounded the alert with other unions in a press release. “It’s super insidious. For someone who is not very politicized, their association may seem sympathetic. But the devil is in detail, ”adds Astrid Brobecker, who initially believed in a simple parenting support association.
The computer assisted presentation broadcast by the association on April 10 enabled Astrid Brobecker to lift the hare. In one of the pages disseminated, presented in the form of a flea list with the title “Risks of social networks”, there was for example … The “gender dysphoria”. The other name, very medicalized and more used by the French health authorities or by WHO, of transidentity. The thesis here implied would be that by consulting social networks abundantly, the child would risk becoming transgender.
An absurdity for Anaïs Perrin-Prévelle, co-president of the Outrans association, which recalls that at average one person takes seven years to transition. The thesis of social networks which would cause sudden identifications to the opposite genre has been developed by the clinician-researcher Lisa Littman, in the clever journal PLOS ONE In 2018. But it was quickly criticized by the scientific journal itself, which corrected the article, claiming that the phenomenon was not “clinically validated”. Many studies also show that social networks strengthen a certain sexual, sexist order. However, the idea of social networks that would transform children into trans persons continues to be used and falsely widespread by the extreme right and fundamentalist environments. Including parents’ network.
46,000 euros from the ministry
It is therefore surprising that the association was funded by the common good fund, as evidenced by its website a few days ago, which classified the organization among its “patrons” – mentioned since. More surprising, however, to see the… Ministry of Labor. According to various concordant sources and documents that 20 Minutes Procureled, the association would have received 16,000 euros in June 2025 from the Ministry of Labor, Health, Solidarity and Families of France, and more than 30,000 euros between 2022 and 2024.
Parents network also displays in its 2023 activity report in the state subsidies department the educational cited system, co -piloted by the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion and the General Directorate of School Education (DGESCO), led by Caroline Pascale. The same who supported the Stanislas establishment, accused of homophobia, adding a paragraph in the letter of transmission of a report on the college, paragraph disowned by two authors of the report. A budgetary document of October 2024 also indicates that the association received 6,000 euros for the “prevention of delinquency”, credits attached to the Ministry of the Interior.
Contacted, the Ministry of National Education said that he had not paid a “national” subsidy or delivered to this association, and he returned 20 Minutes Towards the Academy of Versailles, which claims not to support this association or having given it money. The Ministry of Labor has not responded to our many reminders.
In contradiction with sex education content
Ministries and funds of the common good are not the only ones to water money this association with reactionary, sexist and transphobic ideas. Fourteen municipalities in the Yvelines and Hauts-de-Seine departments have given nearly 74,000 euros in public money in 2024 and in total to almost 150,000 euros since 2022. The Ile-de-France region is most generous, with almost 100,000 euros in five years.
What worry the associations of parents of students. Solicited, the FCPE denounces the intervention of parents’ network at the Ormeaux college without any approval from the ministry. And beyond this episode, Grégoire Entel, the vice-president of the FCPE, says he is “shocked” and “stunned” that the government finances such structures, while it is deployed at the same time the education program for relational and sexual life (Evars), which attempts to deconstruct stereotypes and promotes different models of families. Especially since other organizations that defend this program are at the discs. And to conclude: “It is unacceptable to finance this type of organization while family planning and a whole range of serious and legitimate actors on these subjects are in great financial difficulties. »»
