It is the first time that a sportsman has laid down the trophy twice, since the creation of this team of the sportsman of the month of Corsica-Matin. Already elected in April by Internet users, her two gold medals this time won in Poitiers at the French Youth Championships (weekend of July 19 and 20) confirmed the immense potential of the Bastiaise swimmer, Pauline Lacroix.
Member of the young French team and licensed at 2b swimming, Pauline first marked the spirits on the 100 meters back. A perfectly controlled race, concluded by a victory in the final in 1’06”37, after a solid series. But the demonstration did not stop there since Pauline won a second gold medal in 2’23”79 over 200 meters back. Each time, she wins among the best swimmers of her generation, beating her own times and establishing new Corsican records.
Sacred performances which were therefore rewarded by the votes. The latter were counted 1027 for this month of July. Unlike April when the results were tighter, the 15 -year -old island swimmer raised 72.3 % of the votes of this ballot.

“It’s great! It means that there are many people who are proud of what I did. It allows you to show a little more swimming in Corsica”said the young athlete who observes a few days of vacation, before a resumption of training which was set for August 25.
The Bastiaise already knows the rest of the calendar of her competitions. It aims indeed the French small basin championships which will take place next December, in Angers.
This July, the Wingfoil champion, Ezio Bastianelli (16.2 %) seized second place while Julien Bunel (sail) and Cyril Jourdan (archery) complete this classification.
