“I had lunch around 9:30 am and at some point, I saw the trash bins moving outside, but I never thought it was that at the start,” explains the owner of the residence in question, Jacques Lapointe.

As soon as the couple living in the residence finally noted what had just happened, he hastened to go to the basement, where the water had already started to infiltrate.

“We did our big possible, but it had already sank. A chance that we had trees at the back of the house, because it could have been much worse, “added Mr. Lapointe’s wife when met outside their home on rue Simard on Thursday.

First time

The couple who lives in the house located at the bottom of the Saint-Romuald presbytery since the 1970s said it is the first time that a event of the genre has occurred.

“It is not the first time that there have been heavy rains, but we have never experienced something like that. We just hope that the rain will not resume too quickly, ”reported Mr. Lapointe, showing the extent of the damage.

“It is certain that something will have to be done to protect the house, because there, we will no longer be safe that it still happens and it could become worrying in the long run,” continued his wife.

Other affected sectors

Several other Lévis arteries have also been considerably affected by large quantities of water that has spread. This was notably the case with part of Avenue Taniata.
