“Red” day announced this Saturday on the roads, especially for returns

Weekend of August 15: day

This Saturday, August 16 will be the most difficult day of the extended weekend on the roads of France. Here are the advice of Bison Futé to avoid the plugs as much as possible.

Bad news for people who plan to hit the road this weekend … especially this Saturday. During the extended weekend of August 15, it will be “the most circulated day”, and in particular for returns according to Bison Futé. The day is indeed classified red at the national level. Some axes will be particularly impacted.

In the direction of departures, the day on Saturday is classified “Orange” at the national level. Traffic will be “very difficult” in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and on the Mediterranean arc, according to the forecasts of Bison Futé. “Clips” will be encountered “on the axes allowing to join Normandy, Brittany and the Pays de la Loire (A11) from ÃŽle-de-France, and to join Spain via Bordeaux (A10 and A63)”. Other roads will also be very taken, including the A71, the Mont-Blanc tunnel and those in the direction of the Mediterranean (A61, A7, A8 and A9). “Punctual traffic difficulties” will also be able to take place in ÃŽle-de-France.

In the direction of returns, the day is classified “red” at the national level. It is therefore necessary to expect important traffic jams, in particular on certain axes which will be very borrowed. In the northwest, the axes from Normandy, Brittany and the Pays de la Loire to ÃŽle-de-France (A13, A11, A87 and RN165). The axes in the south of the country will also be “very borrowed”: (A63, A10, A9, A54/RN113, A8, A7 and A61). Bison Futé also provides “very difficult” circulation for the crossing of the Massif Central (A75 and A71) and the Mont-Blanc Tunnel from Italy to France. Finally, it will be necessary to be patient in ÃŽle-de-France at the end of the day, in particular at the level of toll barriers.

Bison Futé therefore recommends avoiding several axes at certain times. In the direction of returns, where traffic will therefore be the most difficult, it is therefore necessary to avoid:

  • ÃŽle-de-France between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.,
  • The A11 motorway between Le Mans and Paris and between Nantes and Le Mans from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
  • A8 at Aix-en-Provence from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
  • The A7 between Marseille and Orange from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and between Orange and Lyon from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.,
  • A61 between Narbonne and Toulouse from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • A63 between Spain and Bayonne from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and between Bayonne and Bordeaux from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The Mont-Blanc tunnel between Italy and France from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. …
