In a statement published on Sunday morning, the airline confirmed the resumption of its activities.
“The resumption of operations will start immediately, and the first flights will be operated this evening, but Air Canada plans that it will take several days before its operations return to normal,” said the press release.
Recall that the on -board agents began a strike on Saturday at 12:58 a.m., which led to the cancellation of more than 700 flights.
The Minister of Employment Patty Hajdu held a press conference on Saturday at 1 p.m., during which she demanded return to work and imposed an enforceable arbitration between the union and Air Canada.
For logistical reasons, the company advises its customers to run at the airport, as many flights will still be canceled.
“Air Canada strongly recommends its customers not to go to the airport unless you have a confirmed reservation and that their flight is indicated as ahead.”
