The Galaxy A55 5G is a 2024 sub-flagship smartphone that can be found for $ 399.99 on Amazon today (June 29, 2025). It is listed with its original one UI 6.1 version on this page – however, it could soon be upgraded to a more recent version of the Android dressing.
A device bearing the model number of the A55 5G (“samsung SM-A556 E “) surfaced on Geekbench with”Android 16“As operating system – even if its last official update makes it pass to One UI 7.
The leak suggests that it will join the Galaxy S25 by accessing One Ui 8 even if it is a public beta version.
This new discovery closely follows the information according to which its successor, the A56 5G also presented One UI 8 has also been the subject of leaks.
We found that the Galaxy A55 5G was a decent Android mid -range during our test with some potentially crucial drawbacks such as the screen/body ratio too weak (which was somewhat corrected in the A56) and the lack of wireless recharge (which was not the case).
Today, it seems that the device can add the prospect of a major software update to the possibility of using microSD cards (then deleted in its successor) to the list of its advantages as a daily driver in the long term.
