The areus being the largest watercourse entirely Neuchâtel, his mouth has a very particular interest.
The objective of the second phase of second stage revitalization mouth areuse work is to restore space in water. to restore the natural dynamics of the areus. Forest cuts. the dismantling of old moorings and the abolition of riprap in the feet of banks will be carried out. Four ears will be built to promote erosion. which will allow the formation of more structured banks and the migration of gravel on the future revitalized delta.
On the right bank. the path along the river will be removed and replaced, further west, by an alternative course on the edge of the forest. This modification will allow natural modeling of the bank by the watercourse.
Once the work is completed, new natural environments will develop and allow a diversified fauna and flora to settle. The quality of the fish housing will be significantly improved.
During the work. access to the sector under construction (surrounded in red on the attached plan) will be prohibited to the public second stage revitalization mouth areuse for security reasons.
