Serious accident in Saint-Joachim: a woman rests in critical condition

A woman still rested in critical condition following an accident involving three vehicles, which occurred in the Saint-Joachim sector, a few kilometers east of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, early on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called upon to go to the La Miche coast sector on Route 138, shortly before 5 p.m.

According to initial information, a vehicle circulating in the west direction would have struck a vehicle that was rolling in the opposite direction by wanting to try an overtaking.

Another vehicle traveling in the direction is then finished its race in the two cars which had already collided.

The two occupants of the vehicle who attempted the maneuver had to be transported to a hospital center, the driver with minor injuries and the passenger in critical condition.

The other two motorists involved in pile up have also suffered minor injuries which do not put their lives in danger.

A reconstructionist of the SQ as well as an investigator specializing in collision were deployed on the scene to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the event.

The speed could have been a contributory factor for the collision, but the investigation is still continuing.
