She falls from a scale: a 31 -year -old worker loses her life in Montreal

A second fatal work accident occurred in less than 24 hours in the metropolitan region, while a 31 -year -old worker lost her life after falling from a scale on Tuesday morning in Montreal.

The accident occurred around 6:40 am in the courtyard of the Notre-Dame-des-Anges boarding school, a private primary school located on Boulevard Rosemont, not far from the boulevard de l’Assomption, in the district of Rosemont-la Petite-Patrie.

Roofing work is currently underway on the vast school.

An employee of the company who carries out the work, a 31 -year -old woman, fell several meters while she was high, on a scale leading to the roof.

When the emergency services arrived, the woman was lying to the ground, unconscious and seriously injured.

She was transported urgently to hospital in critical condition. However, she died of her injuries a little later and the authorities confirmed her death in the early afternoon.

Inspectors of the standards, equity, health and occupational safety commission were still on the spot at the beginning of the afternoon to try to determine the circumstances of the event.

The other site employees also had to be met to give their version of the facts.

This is the second serious work accident to occur in as many days since the return of the construction holidays.

On Monday, at the beginning of the afternoon, a young 21-year-old worker died crushed by the bucket of a mechanical shovel on a road site in Terrebonne.
