The gracious Ukrainian goes to the interview accompanied by her son Illia, 14 years old. The teenager attended secondary school and, after three years spent in Switzerland, is already expressed in a correct German. Olga Krasnopolska, for his part, continues to familiarize himself with the language and follows language lessons.

Live art and his passion

The classical dance and contemporary dance lessons that she currently gives to Wettingen and the surrounding room, however, are very good, as she explains:

“It is above all about movement. To explain a precise choreographic element, I note in advance the keywords and sentences on small cards »

His exceptional talent in dance and acrobatics, combined with his kindness and his ability to motivate, largely compensate for his temporary linguistic gaps.

Olga Krasnopolska fled Ukraine with her three children and is now trying to build a new homeland in Wettingen, without giving up his passion, dance.

After the summer holidays, she will take care of a new module at the children’s theater and adolescents Lampefieberin Baden, in Argovie. Baptized Circomaniathis course will mix acrobatics, dance and show elements for the youngest. A way to extend the professional career of this former circus school director, forced to flee war in her country.

Poetic shows that go around the world

Olga Krasnopolska is a real enthusiast of movement. During her adolescence, she successfully practiced rhythmic gymnastics for more than ten years, and, at 16, she joined a dance academy in Ukraine to follow a ballerina formation.

Two years later, her talent and her charisma lead her to a contemporary circus troop. It is there that she learns the art of the circus and that she meets her husband, Anatoliy Zalevskiy.

The latter, Acrobate and balancingist, won a gold medal at the Cirque Festival of tomorrow in Paris, a gold clown in Monte-Carlo and many other prestigious prices. He then worked for the Cirque du Soleil.

In 2003, the couple founded the collective with other artists with other artists Rhizome And travels the world with a unique spectacle mixing acrobatics and dance. Their children, of which Illia and her sister, also participated in this poetic and sophisticated spectacle, often praised by the press.

For 25 years, Rizoma has not stopped

The couple also opened a circus school in Ukraine, which has continued to grow. The summer camps dedicated to gymnastics, dance and acrobatics quickly became a tradition. As Olga Krasnopolska says:

“We have always been keen to develop the physical and creative capacities of the young generation, and to make it strong and ready for life”

Protect children from war

For her, giving up this flourishing school and their house with a garden to flee the war and protecting her children is a deep heartbreaker. But fear was too great. She says:

“There were constantly bombing alerts, we had to take refuge in the shelters. My children could often not go to school. This constant fear and the uncertainty of the future have pushed us to leave. We have obviously left a lot of precious things behind us and dear to our hearts. ”

The artist also confides how much his family who has remained in Ukraine lack.

Another difficulty, Anatoliy Zalevskiy is currently on an international tour with Rhizome And will not return to Switzerland until the fall. The couple is called every day. In the meantime, Olga Krasnopolska, mother of two boys and a girl, adapts to her new life in Switzerland, and hopes to be able to expand her teaching activity. She is expressed with hope:

“I met here so many creative and formidable people”

What she wants more than anything for the future is a simple thing: more peace and security for her and those she loves.
