She pretended to be a qualified nurse and treated thousands of patients before being dismissed

A 29 -year -old American woman who pretended to be a graduate nurse treated thousands of patients in Florida, until her deception was discovered when she obtained a promotion and another employee checked her qualifications, reports it News Journal.

Autumn Bardisa was charged with seven charges for the illegal exercise of the medical profession and seven accusations for fraudulent use of personal identification information, according to the Sheriff’s Bureau of Flagler.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had administered medical care at 4,486 patients between June 2024 and January 2025 at the Adventhealth hospital in Palm Coast, without having ever owned a valid nursing license, said the sheriff.

The young woman was arrested on August 5. She faces five years’ imprisonment for each charges chosen against her.

It is owned at the PERRY HALL sheriff’s detention center, with a deposit set at $ 70,000.

The Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation in January after the Adventhealth Hospital administrators said they dismissed the young woman “for pretending to be a graduate nurse using another person’s license number and subjecting false documents in order to be hired as an advanced nursing technician,” said the sheriff.

According to the press release, the hospital hired the young woman on July 3, 2023 as an advanced technician infirmer to work under the supervision of a graduate nurse.

A succession of lies

During her candidacy, Autumn Bardisa indicated that she had taken the necessary courses to become a graduate nurse, but that she had not yet passed the exam to obtain the license to exercise.

She then declared to the hospital that she had passed the exam and communicated to them a license number to exercise corresponding to that of a woman with the same first name, but a different surname, said the sheriff’s office.

Autumn Bardisa also declared that she had recently married and changed her name.

The sheriff’s office said that he had been asked to provide his marriage certificate, but that she had never done it.

In January 2025, she was offered a promotion and it was then that a colleague checked her license.

He discovered that his certified caregiver license had expired and reported his discovery to the administrators, said the sheriff’s office.

Adventhealth conducted an investigation and discovered that their employee had not provided her marriage certificate, as asked.

The administrators dismissed her on January 22, 2025.
