A series of shots fired on the Jacques-Cartier quay, in Old Montreal, caused an intense crowd movement on Sunday evening. Hundreds of people were on the site to attend the fireworks of the Loto-Québec International Lights.
According to the information we have, the gunshots have sounded on the Jacques-Cartier quay a little before 11 p.m., after the end of the pyrotechnic show. The crowd, in which there were in particular families, children and tourists, then tried to quickly leave the premises to flee the danger.
The police deployed on the site to ensure security then intervened to contain and direct the human flow outside the site. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crowd.
On site, the investigators discovered empty sockets on the ground. A dog handler and the judicial identity were also deployed on the scene to lend a hand to investigators. No suspect has yet been apprehended in this case.
The sockets were found on the site by the investigators.

Witnesses who attended the scene are questioned by the investigators who also seized the images captured by the security cameras of neighboring businesses.
The police service of the City of Montreal (SPVM) asks citizens who have attended the incident or who have relevant information to contact their neighborhood post or compose 911.
These shots fired during the fireworks evening are reminiscent that last Thursday, shots were also fired following the fires, this time in Longueuil, in the park of Île Charron.
A man had also been stabbed during the altercation. Longueuil police had arrested following the event.
