A vegetation fire broke out on Route 66 (ex RN116) this Friday, July 11, 2025. Traffic is interrupted between Prades and Perpignan.
The firefighters of the Pyrénées-Orientales were alerted at 2:20 p.m. from a fire departure in Catalan land this Friday, July 11, 2025.
According to the first elements, the fire broke out between Ille-sur-Têt and Néfiach, along the departmental road 66 (ex RN116).
The firefighters, the police and the services of the department go on the spot in number. 90 fire soldiers and the water bomber helicopter fight against the flames. At 3:45 p.m., the fire had covered 1.5 hectare.
The department’s road information center asks anyone to avoid the sector in order to facilitate the passage of vehicles.
Route 66 is cut in both directions of traffic between Ille-sur-Têt and Millas. A deviation has been set up by the services of the department via the RD916.
