A bandit who had just stealed items inside the Simons store in downtown Montreal opened fire towards a security guard who was trying to catch it on Thursday at the end of the morning.
At least one shot was fired by the suspect around 11:45 a.m. at the exit of the trade which overlooks rue Metcalfe. A few dozen meters away is rue Sainte-Catherine, which swarmed with pedestrians at that time of the day.

In addition to the many road works which paralyze this portion of the city center, the authorities have completely closed rue Metcalfe, between rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest and boulevard de Maisonneuve Ouest, for investigations.
The viewing of the images of the surveillance cameras could make it possible to learn more about the sought -after suspect.
