The Vendays-Montalivet astronomy club (ACM), chaired by Bruno Sirougnet, gives an appointment to the curious of the sky the 1is And August 2, as part of the Stars Nights, a national event placed under the patronage of the French Association of Astronomy (AFA).
These two free evenings open to all will take place at the ACM Observatory, located on the Montalivet aerodrome, in an environment conducive to the observation of the summer sky. As every year, the program will mix scientific conferences, observations in the telescope, astronomical photography and consumer workshops.
Capture the wonders of the sky
The 1is August, GĂ©rald Raymond, member of the ACM club, will host a conference on “Le Big Bang”. Former executive at Ariane Group, he devoted his career to the design of propulsion systems for aeronautics and space. Passionate, he shares his knowledge today with simplicity: “What we know about the origin of the universe is fascinating. My goal is to take everyone into this scientific journey, whatever their level. »»
On August 2, it was Thierry Wybrecht, professor of mathematics and amateur astrophotographer, also a member of the ACM, who will take over with a conference entitled “Photographic discovery of the sky”. He will reveal the techniques to capture celestial wonders through the lens. “Photographing the sky is making the invisible visible, and showing what our eyes alone do not always perceive,” he explains.
Each conference will start at 9 p.m., followed from 10 p.m. observation sessions with telescopes and glasses at 10 p.m., as well as initiation workshops to stars and constellations visible to the naked eye. The public will also be able to try at night photography. Of course, these animations depend on weather conditions: confirmation will be published the same day on the club website.
