Faced with the rise of summer temperatures, the Ministry of Health has appealed to vigilance concerning the use of solar creams, stressing the importance of protecting itself effectively from the harmful effects of ultraviolet (UV) rays.
In an awareness statement, the ministry insists that skin protection is a health necessity, and warns against the proliferation of counterfeit products, often sold without authorization, especially on the Internet or via the parallel market.
Characteristics of a good sunscreen:
To ensure optimal protection, the product used must:
-Apt a SPF 50 protection index capable of blocking 98 % of UVB rays;
-Move double protection against UVA and UVB;
-Itre authorized by the Ministry of Health;
-Conte natural and safe ingredients, such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
Tips for use:
The ministry also recommends that consumers:
Read the labels carefully, check the list of components and the expiration date;
Do not use a sunscreen open for more than six months;
Keep the product sheltered from the sun and heat.
To avoid:
Unauthorized or sold sunscreens sold outside the regulated circuits can be ineffective, especially against UVA, and contain potentially dangerous substances, such as:
-Oxybenzone
-Octinoxate
-Parabnes
-Ctocrylène
Final recommendation:
The ministry advises to favor a natural sunscreen, safe and renewed every two hours, and to avoid any product whose color or smell has changed, a probable sign of alteration.
