FootballLittle magic in the Swiss Cup
The favorites all did the work, during the 1st round of the Swiss Cup. Few would only be trembling.
The beauty of the Walenstadt stadium.
Martin Meienberger/freshfocusAs we know, in Swiss football, the abyss is often gaping between the rare very professional clubs and the rest of the planet ball. This 1st round of the Swiss Cup was a new proof. Few “big” were annoyed by lower level teams. Even if the holidays have often been beautiful, around the country.
In La Sarraz (1st), local players never had time to believe in it against FC Grand-Saconnex (PL/1-4). A bit like FC Payerne (1st), which still held 50 minutes before cracking (1-3) against Sidiki Camara and Yverdon (CHL). Stade Lausanne Ouchy (CHL) had to wait 58 minutes and a goal from Issa Kaloga to unlock his counter in Veyrier (2nd/0-2). Still in the canton of Vaud, Echallens (1st) had to go through the extension to win in Vernier (2nd int/0-1 AP).
Neuchâtel XAMAX (CHL) also sweated against FC Diaspora (2nd), taking it only 2-3. FC Bosna Neuchâtel (2nd int) also continues its career, after eliminating FC Breitenbach (2nd/0-5). Still in the same side of Switzerland, the Communal FC Sport Le Locle beat FC Saxon (2-1), in this duel between 2nd league training. At the end of the Lake Geneva, Star Carouge (CHL) spent the shoulder for an additional half hour against the FC Bernex-Confignon signal (2nd int/0-3 AP).
The palm of the promenade returned to FC St-Gall, during the short trip to Walenstadt, by the eponymous lake. The embroiderers won 0-13, with two strokes of the hat of Alessandro Vogt and the former Lausannois Aliou Baldé (in 5 minutes!). The little thumb of the SC Nebikon (4th league!) Was eliminated by Bellinzone (CHL) on the score of 0-4.
