The 22ᵉ Piano edition in Saint-Ursanne confirmed the public attachment to this musical meeting. From August 2 to 10, the festival brought together a loyal audience from the Jura Arc, from all over Switzerland, from neighboring France and even other European countries, according to a press release transmitted by its organizers. More than half of the concerts have displayed complete, with an overall frequentation rate exceeding 90 %, despite an unfavorable weather at the opening.
About fifteen pianists from around the world have occurred. Among the highlights, the recital of the Polish Szymon Nehring, hailed for his poetry and his virtuosity, the concert “The Silence of the Forest” with Signelégier mixing nature and music with Olivia Gay and Christiane Baume-Sanglard, or the performance of the young Sino-Canadian prodigy Sophia Liu, ovationed by a conquered audience.
Director Vincent Baume praised public loyalty and the festival’s growing notoriety with artists. The Crescendo musical season will continue with the series “Grandes Solistes” on October 30 and “La Nuit du Concerto” on December 7, both at the Théâtre du Jura. /comm-mlm
