Tensions within the majority: “The MR must stop opposing humanity,” says Conner Rousseau

Conner Rousseau (Vooruit) and Sammy Mahdi (CD & V) denounce the attitude deemed hypocritical of certain government partners in the face of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The MR is clearly pointed out by the Flemish socialists, who demand firmer actions, including sanctions against Israel.

Vooruit, in the federal majority, believes that the government must make it more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “It has become untenable,” said the president of the Flemish socialists Conner Rousseau on Thursday in Belga.

Earlier in the day, his CD & V Sammy Mahdi counterpart had expressed his “fed up” in the face of the “hypocritical attitude” of certain partners of the Arizona government with regard to Israel, without citing the concerned (s) concerned.

Conner Rousseau explicitly targets French -speaking liberals. “The MR must stop opposing humanity. This goes beyond the boundaries of political parties. »»

Group leader Vooruit in the House, Oskar Seuntjens, also shares the criticisms formulated by Sammy Mahdi. “This feeling resonates in many people, I think. The attitude of some cannot be qualified other than hypocritical and loose. If that was only due to us, we should act faster, both at Belgian and European level. »»

And to continue: “If we consider the speed with which we intervened to sanction Russia, it is incomprehensible that sanctions against Israel are much more difficult. More than 60,000 people have already died. People have enough, and one wonders where the morality of some has gone, “said the deputy. “We continue to make proposals and hope that measures may be taken, both Belgian and Ultopian, to improve the situation of the Palestinians. »»
