Thanks to your smartphone, you can finally lock your Windows PC remotely. Here’s how to do

What seduces users is its practicality : Thanks to it, they can make and receive calls, send SMS, or even consult their notifications from their smartphone directly on their PC. And Microsoft further enriches its application of a new functionality by publishing a new update of Link to Windows on Android: the possibility of locking your PC remotely.

Locking your Windows 11 PC from your Android smartphone, it’s now possible

You may happen to have to be absent briefly and forget to lock your PC. Thanks to the update published by Microsoft for the Link to Windows application on Android, there is no need to redo the whole opposite way: In one click, you can now lock your Windows 11 PC from a distance.

  • Take out your phone,
  • Open the Link to Window application
  • Press the brand new “Lock the PC” button
  • Your PC will be locked automatically and your phone will be disconnected from Windows Phone Link until you authenticate again.

Thanks to its phone Link and Link to Windows phone updates, Microsoft continues to improve interoperability between Windows 11 PCs and smartphones. According to Windows Central, these improvements are part of the Rebunct of the Link to Windows application : From now on, All its main functions are grouped in one and the same place Thanks to a new button: “Access the PC”. Among them we find:

  • Sharing files and photos from your smartphone to your PC,

If these functions were only possible only from your PC, They are now also from your Android phone. The Redmond firm also recently announced that it was going directly integrate Phone Link into the Start menu interface For more practicality. No need to open an application, you can:

  • Have an overview of your smartphone: notifications, recent photos,
  • Have quick access to your messages, calls and photos,
  • Send files directly to your smartphone.

Thanks to this new feature, no more indiscreet eyes will be able to scrutinize your screen when you are not there.
