The Canada Conservative Party will have a new campaign director for the next federal elections, now that Jenni Byrne has announced that she was withdrawing from the position she held this spring.
Ms. Byrne, who remains a key advisor to the party leader, Pierre Hairy, also directed the campaigns of former Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2011 and 2015.
She has been the target of criticism since April 28, some conservatives claiming her dismissal after the fourth consecutive electoral defeat of the party in front of the Liberals.
Ms. Byrne recently granted an in -depth interview to Broado Beyond a Ballotwhose mission is to interest more women in politics.
She maintains that the decision not to focus the conservative campaign on American president Donald Trump and his customs duties was the right one.
Byrne says that the Liberals won because Prime Minister Mark Carney “lied” on his ability to negotiate with President Trump, while the Conservatives maintained the electoral base that the polls had revealed in January.
