It will take a lot of patience for the pendulum between Friborg and Bern this summer. The CFF line has been cut since this weekend for a site, estimated at 90 million francs. On Monday, travelers jumped on buses for 30 -minute extended journeys.
SBBs have deployed their substitution system to ensure the connection between Friborg and Bern to the 33,000 travelers who borrow this line daily. Over 70 buses have been made available.

Work until the end of August
On the ground, SBB mobilized an important device to support travelers. Patrollers regulate pedestrian traffic around stations, while customer assistants guide users to good quays or stops. A particular effort was focused on provisional signage: panels, ground markings and specific displays were deployed in Friborg and Bern to limit the risk of confusion.
The work must allow the renewal of the switches at the Friborg and Guin station (FR). In Schmititn (FR), it is the tracks at the station that will be replaced, without forgetting the renovation of 8 km of track between Flamatt (FR) and Berne. The complete interruption of rail traffic will last until August 25.
Decrease in attendance
The replacement of trains by buses lengthens the trips of about 30 minutes. A change that forces many users to modify their habits, often by advancing their awakening in the morning.
A decrease of a quarter of attendance on the line is expected this summer. In question, the holidays and the use of other means of transport.
