By counting the outdoor and indoor titles, the former world record holder (6.16 m) now has 19 titles of champion of France.
At almost 39 years old, the veteran only needed two jumps to rule out the competition: he started his competition at 5.65 m, when the French champion Thibaut Collet began his at 5.40 m.

After skipping at 5.72 m, Lavillenie spent 5.82 from his first try, a height he had already crossed twice this season.
The 2012 Olympic champion tried to improve his best jump of the season with a 5.92 m bar, which he failed to pass.
By crossing this bar at 5.82 m, Lavillenie reaches the minimum bar for the Worlds in Tokyo (September 13-21), its objective project.
