The Competition Office of Canada recalls that many people have recently received text messages from unknown numbers. They are potentially attempted fraud.
Hacking by text message is a type of scam by which fraudsters pretend to be well -known companies, government organizations or even people you know. They encourage you to click on malicious ties or to communicate your personal information. The objective of fraudsters is to steal your personal data or your money.
Often, fraudsters will want to create a feeling of emergency in their victim to better achieve their ends.
It is important to never click on suspect links and delete any fraudulent text message. Any attempt to have a text message can be denounced to the antifraude center of Canada.
