The developer of Silent Hill: Townfall the developer Nocode changes his name to become screen burn

The developer of Nocode video games, based in Glasgow, who worked on titles such as Observation et Stories Untoldhas officially changed its name to become Screen Burn, while the development of its latest project, Silent Hillis in progress: Townfall. The change of name in screen burn is a nod to Silent Hill : Townfallinspired by the ghost of an image engraved on an old CRT screen.

Jon McKellan, founder and creative director of Screen Burn, commented on the brand’s change: “We are no longer what we were in 2015. We have grown and changed. To start, we now have coders! We therefore need a name that reflects what has always been at the heart of the games themselves, the feeling of imperfection of the old technologies and the lasting impact of a story that accompanies you long after the generic.”

Screen Burn is currently working on the Silent Hill spin-off project, baptized Townfallin collaboration with the publisher Konami. This is an autonomous episode of the Silent Hill franchise, initially announced for 2022.

Jon McKellan is a long -standing fan of the Silent Hill series and, in real fan, he played the original Silent Hill game on PS1 in 1999. It is clear that the founder of Screen Burn is passionate about this opportunity. He added: “It is a real honor for us to bring a new title to the series which respects the original material while doing something a little different”

Regarding the gameplay, the details remain rare since we were only entitled to a few images, a trailer and teasers during the announcement. What can be assumed for the moment is the first -person perspective of the game, which is contrary to the camera angle in the third person of the remake de Silent Hill 2 of Bloober Team and the Project Silent Hill F at come.

McKellan added: “Until we can show you more, it may be worth looking at the trailer to see what you may have missed.” Online speculation suggest that the game takes place in the 1980s, which suggests that Townfall is a prequel of Silent Hill 1.
