They who were initially sentenced to become more and more efficient. The German manufacturers and their subsidiaries occupy a good part of the top 10 sales of electric cars in Europe. And this trend should only increase in the coming months, even if the Tesla Model remains the first sale on the old continent.
German manufacturers are engaged in a large part of lobbying with Europe. And for a few weeks, this campaign has been intensifying. Objective: to fold the political bodies so that they let the combustion engine continue beyond 2035, especially on hybrids. All electric in 2035? Very little for the Germans. However, it is the latter that make the best sales scores currently in Europe since a majority of the top 10 is occupied either by German brands or by close subsidiaries such as Skoda. And all these beautiful people benefit in particular from the loss of speed of Tesla and in particular the Model Y.
The Germans sell their electricity well
Large price reductions in Germany on certain models in the ID range have borne fruit. The stormy beginnings of ID.3 seem to belong to the past since sales growth is continued in recent months in Europe. ID.3 and ID.4 rose 54 and 58 % respectively over the first five months of the year. The ID.7 also makes a huge box by coming to place itself directly in third place in electricity sales in Europe! Not bad for a large sedan that is not necessarily given …
Success applies to all the Germans and their subsidiary. The BMW IX1 or the Skoda battery doublet with an Enyaq still in good shape and an Elroq which is already sold very well come to complete a top 10 which is mainly occupied by the German groups.
Overall, the entire electric market was fired up between January and June with 27.3 % increase in sales. But everyone does not take advantage of it: Tesla is in red with its Y models and 3 (even if the SUV remains at the top of the ranking). The Renault 5 and the KIA EV3 are in good position but we note the absence of the Citroën E-C3 of the top 10 despite its aggressive prices.

The electricity that smiles at the Germans
The Germans hope that the review clause of the “End of thermal 2035” file will allow the petrol engine to continue to exist after 2035. However, the current signs of the market show that German electric vehicles are popular, in particular those of generalist marks. For the premium, except the IX1 at BMW, it is much more complicated. Should Germans really be afraid at all electric? The fact is that we are still far from reaching sufficient volumes to ensure everyone’s profitability. In the meantime, therefore, Volkswagen keeps thorny files under the elbow such as the future golf course, whose engines are probably not yet stopped …
