In addition to these two tunnels, six underground passages will be made in strategic places of the ocher city by 2027, notably at the crossroads of avenues Mohammed V and Abdelkrim El Khattabi, at the crossroads of Mohammed V and Hassan II, near Post Maroc, and at the level of Mohammed VI and Hassan II, near the Royal Theater. These works will transform the road network in Marrakech and will reduce traffic jams, pollution and accidents. The authorities’ objective is to provide the city with a modern and effective mobility network, integrated into the 2020-2027 regional development plan. The making of the two tunnels should require an investment of 400 million dirhams. These funds will be mobilized jointly by the Marrakech-Safi region, the municipal council and the Ministry of Equipment and Transport.
