The Halle Night Long evenings transform the hall of the machine into a festive music scene. Free Concerts on Fridays and Saturday, tangy atmosphere and eclectic programming are on the menu.
Throughout the month of August, the Halle de la Machine à Montaudran (south of Toulouse) vibrates every Friday and Saturday evening, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the rhythm of the Halle Night Long evenings. These free outdoor concerts plunge visitors into a festive and offbeat tavern atmosphere, faithful to the spirit of the machine.
This Friday, August 1, the public will be able to dance on the electro psyche rock of the 6 monkeys, an original and energetic group. On Saturday, place at the crazy fanfare Amfifanfare for a high -up concert. “It is a Balkan fanfare from Nantes with 23 musicians, it will be impressive,” says Solène Boulet, who selected the artists alongside Marie Saunier.
“We receive a hundred candidates to remember only eighteen in the end. We really listen to everything that is sent to us and then sort. Our goal being to offer concerts like the machine, offbeat and eclectic and which at the same time can speak to everyone,” explains Solène.
On Friday August 8, Kimia’s Afro Pop House will take over. This Toulouse artist, renowned for her scenic charisma, promises an electrifying performance. The next day, direction Argentina and Brazil with the Tango and the Samba of Rolando Canario & Mireya: an invitation to come and dance as a duo.
The evening of August 15 will welcome the Dancers in Red Power Rock. “There, it will really type,” comments Solène. Saturday 16, place at the Cruiser Tropical Duo and its electro-African sounds. “There will be a guy with turntables, another with instruments, it looks good either,” slips the programmer.
On Friday August 22, John Bleck Band, absent from the program the previous year, will go on stage. “We are very happy to find them. They will be five on stage, in a more reggae groove register and a lot of instruments,” says Solène. On Saturday 23, the Big Fat Swing group will take over to make swing enthusiasts dance until the end of the evening.
The last weekend in August will conclude the programming with the country tones of Backyard Country Family, who came from Nantes. On Saturday 30, the Toulouse orchestra Le Grand Silence will offer an acoustic walk to finish summer gently.
Throughout the summer season, the machine hall remains open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to the weekend concerts, the public can discover the Minotaur, the mare dragon long, as well as the exhibition “Anatomy of a show”. Children’s tales are offered every Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., just before the concerts. The offer is supplemented by the lunches of small mechanics (Wednesdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.), moon -backpacks and the Senart square merry -go -round.
